Before I called it talent management, I was doing it anyway.
In esports I managed ten-plus teams across multiple games – schedules, tournament logistics, practice partners, community and social media. I also managed a coach: client retention, communications, and I was present for contract negotiations.
I’ve worked with musicians on brand and narrative – figuring out how they want to present themselves and building the framework around that.
I’ve moderated and managed communities for streamers. I’ve helped creative people figure out how to present themselves to the world. I’ve been doing versions of this for years – I just didn’t have a word for it until recently.
